Aloha! My name is Danielle Lee.
I'm a multidisciplinary designer based on Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi.
I started The Other Department LLC to use my experience in graphic design, branding, strategy, marketing, and non-profit management to amplify stories and resources for the community.
I'm passionate about sustainability and creating a more socially just food system with less food waste.
Before going full-time freelance, I worked at the food rescue non-profit, Aloha Harvest, as the team's Marketing & Communications Lead. Other recent projects include branding and website design for local jewelry company Keshi Co and real estate development and investment company Global Island Group. I have also helped Diamond Bakery with developing and designing their Strategic Plan, providing photography, graphic design, and copy development services.
Prior to moving to Oʻahu three years ago, I grew up in Hong Kong and lived in New York City, where I studied Graphic Design at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) and worked at various design agencies for 10 years. Now, I'm blessed to call the North Shore of Oʻahu home and am eager to continue contributing to our island community.
Let's talk story and see how we can collaborate!
